Volunteering

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library is an organization dedicated to promoting and providing services and equipment for the BWG Public Library. Fundraising activities include the semi-annual book sale, and the golf tournament in May. The funds raised by the Friends are used to provide author visits, concerts, and movies, and to support programming for Kids and Teens.

Volunteers

Library programs and services are enhanced through the dedication and assistance of volunteers. We have many opportunities available for adults and teens (14 years of age and older) who are willing to donate their time to the library.

Volunteer Screening

All volunteer applicants are screened to ensure an appropriate match is made between the volunteer and the position applied for. The screening process includes completion of a volunteer application form, a formal interview, orientation and training. Police Records Checks may also be required depending on the volunteer placement.

Volunteer Application

If you’re interested in becoming involved, pick up a Volunteer Application Form at the library or download a copy here, and return it to the library. We regret that we have a limited number of volunteer opportunities. If an opportunity that matches your skills and interests becomes available, we will start our screening and placement process with you. All volunteer applications are kept on file for 6 months.
