Using the Catalogue

Logging in to My Account

  1. From the library home page, click on My Account (on the right side of the screen) and a new window opens.
  2. Enter your Library card barcode number (14 digits, no spaces)
  3. Enter your password. (You must obtain your password in person at the library)

You should now see a menu with options to change your password, update your personal information, see your reservations and books currently out on loan and more.

Checking Current Loans and Fines

  1. Click on the library catalogue and log into My Account.
  2. Click on Loans/Renewals.
  3. List of items currently out on loan will appear showing any fines in the overdue fine column.
  4. For fines on items that have already been returned, click on Fines to Date in the menu.

Renewals

  1. Log into My Account (see above)
  2. From the menu, choose Loans/Renewals.
  3. At the top of the list, click on Renew Items.
  4. Click in the checkbox beside each item you wish to renew. Then click on Renew Selected Items, or…
  5. Click on Renew All Items if you wish to renew all the items.

(The new due date will be displayed under the due date column and should be recorded)

*Your renewal will not be accepted if…

• The item is overdue
• There is a hold on the item
• The item has reached a maximum of 2 renewals
• Your connection has timed out (requires you to login again)

Placing Reservations ( Holds )

  1. Access the library catalogue and log into My Account.
  2. Click New Search and find the item you wish to hold. e.g. Author, Title, etc.
  3. Click on the title or cover art for the item.
  4. From the menu on the left, click on Reserve Item.

A confirmation screen allows you to optionally add an expiry date to the hold if there is a time after which you will not need the item. Click Make Reservation and a confirmation message, “Your reservation has been made” will display. Click on New Search to continue browsing the collection.

To place an additional hold, simply search for the next item and repeat the process. As long as you remain logged in and do not time out, you will be able to place multiple holds.

Cancelling Reservations (Holds)

  1. Log into My Account.
  2. From the menu, click on Reservations. A list of your reservations appears.
  3. Click in the checkbox beside each item that you wish to cancel.
  4. Click on Delete Selected Reservations
  5. OR change the expiry date on the reservation.
  6. Click on Confirm modification(s).

Changing your Password

  1. Log into My Account.
  2. Click on Change my password.
  3. Enter the old password.
  4. Enter the new password.
  5. Confirm the new password.
  6. Click Change.

Adding to My List

  1. Log into My Account.
  2. Search for a title or author that interests you.
  3. Select the box(es) beside the item(s) you would like to add to My List.
  4. Click Add to My List.
  5. Select My List from the menu to view your list at any time. It is also available from the My Account menu.
  6. Please note: This list is only available to you, the library does not have access to this list. Use it to keep track of interesting items.

Sending a Message to Library Staff

In My Account, click on Feedback under the suggestions section. Click in the message box to activate the cursor. Type your message and click Send Message.
