We are very excited about the great line up of programs and events we have planned for the next few months. Adult Summer Reading Club 2018

Participate in the Adult Summer Reading Club! Everyone wins when they read! Reading help you relax and keeps your mind sharp, and with the Adult Summer Reading Club you have the added bonuses of book reviews, weekly draws and literary buttons.

You can read or listen to books and choose any books you like. The Adult Summer Reading Club starts Saturday, June 23 and runs until Saturday, September 1, 2018. Click here for more details on how to enter.

 

 

Book Club

New members are welcome to join our discussions about a variety of books. The Book Club is held on the last Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Boardroom. There will be no meeting in December.

The Library usually has a few copies of the selected reading, and can often borrow more copies through inter-library loan. (3-4 weeks  notice is required).

BWG Writers’ Circle

The BWG Writers’ Circle supports budding authors and journalists. Beginning and established writers are welcome to attend. No registration is necessary, just drop in.

The BWG Writer’s Circle meets the third Tuesday of each month from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Boardroom.

Drop-In Coding Club

Professional, amateur, and aspiring computer coders are all welcome to learn, discuss and share skills and knowledge. No registration required.

Meets on the third Thursday of the month in the Boardroom at 7:00 p.m.

Cookbook Club

Calling all foodies! If you love paging through cookbooks and trying new recipes, then this is the club for you.

Each meeting has a different theme, members select a cookbook, take it home, try out a recipe or two and share their experience.

The BWGPL Cookbook Club is an opportunity to explore new cuisines and techniques and enjoy good food and company.

Genealogy Club

This free self-help group that provides sharing, help and information related to family history searches. Each member shares their gains & pains; family history discoveries, obstacles, challenges, and brick-walls. Get assistance with interventions, suggestions, ideas, and strategies for individuals to employ. Find out about upcoming events of interest, new resources, and web-links.

The Genealogy Club’s meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Boardroom from 7 – 9 p.m. There are no meetings in July, August or December.

Climate Change and Sustainability in the Lake Simcoe Watershed

Learn more about climate change in the Lake Simcoe watershed and what it means from a local perspective. The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority is working on many climate change adaptations and sustainability including low impact development, retrofitting, research and innovation. Knit Happens


Gather with other knitters in a relaxed and social environment to chat, share projects and perhaps pick up a few tips as you work on your own creations.
All ages and all skill levels are welcome. We are happy to teach the basics and welcome any other fiber craft activity.

Mommunity Drop-in

Join Mommunity of Bradford for a monthly drop-in. This is an opportunity for mothers to connect within the community. Meet with one another, gain friendships and offer support in a safe and welcoming place to bring children to socialize. Peanut free snacks are welcome. No registration required.

Meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 10 am- 12 p.m in the Green Room.

Monday Movie Matinees

Join us for a free movie monthly on a Monday in the Zima Room at 1:30 p.m. People are welcome to bring their own snacks. There are no matinees during the summer months

 

 

 

 

Next Chapter Boardgames

Older adults are invited to join us, meet people and play a few boardgames, such as Trivial Pursuit, Qwirkle, or Scrabble. Bring your skill, knowledge, and luck, we supply the coffee, tea and treats.

Meets monthly on a Monday in the Boardroom from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon.

Next Chapter Cafe

Jump start your Tuesday at the Library. A casual weekly drop-in program with coffee, tea, and conversation. Meet people, take a break, work on a puzzle, discover a new book or just talk – anything can happen at the Library. Meets in the Zima Room weekly on Tuesdays during the school year, meets in the Boardroom during the summer months 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
