Local History @ Your Library
One of the lesser known attributes of the Library is the Local
History Room. Located where the board room use to be, the new Local
History Room is a great place to start doing research for school
or personal interests.
Microfilm
Contains; The Bradford Witness, Bradford Times, local Tweedsmuir
histories and the Vital Statistics index for the Barrie Newspapers.
Local History Books
Covers topics such as the development of Simcoe County and the creation
of the Holland Marsh.
Yearbooks and Commemorative Books
A collection of high school year books, as well as books celebrating
Yonge Street’s 200th and Canada’s 100th and 125th.
Maps & Old Photographs
See maps of Bradford, West Gwillimbury and the Holland Marsh as
well as plenty of pictures.
Family Histories
Learn about some of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s pioneer and
long established families.
Local Stories of Interest
Read Keith Collings account of the Bradford Bank Robbery and many
other tidbits of this area.
Joe Saint Collection
A work in progress, peruse through life long resident and avid historian
