CALLING ALL WRITERS

Writers Circle supports budding authors, journalists

What is the BWG Writers’ Circle?

•   An opportunity to meet other writers, and enjoy their company
•   A chance to read a sample of your writing to see how it resonates with the group, with the option for a critique/advice ONLY if requested
•   A chance to share ideas
•   An opportunity to seek sales and marketing advice/suggestions
•   An opportunity to share news about writing
•   A time for discussion
•   A time to learn about upcoming educational opportunities such as workshops or conferences, contests, other writing circles or groups, resources (we will have a table of samples)
•   A time for motivation – to encourage and support growth
•   An opportunity to take part in short creative writing exercises, such as writing on the spot
•   A time to hear from invited guest speakers such as professional authors, teachers, etc.

To ensure the quality of the circle, a short list of  What it is not:

•   Not a time to upstage, criticize or judge other members or their opinions. The circle is all about support, respecting one another, and the development of the craft of writing. Personal opinions may vary, especially on controversial subjects. Please remember to focus on the writing, not the opinion expressed if it differs from your own.
•   Not a time to complain or vent or elaborate on personal matters, such as a boss, a spouse, a neighbour, a friend, dinner, prices, etc.

NOTE - If the circle members would like to socialize following the meeting, to further develop friendships, we can arrange for a social time to follow at a local coffee shop, restaurant or pub.

The Bradford West Gwillimbury Writers Circle offers an opportunity for writers to network, hear about calls for submissions, contests, workshops or conferences, practice writing on the spot, participate in a voluntary positive critiquing circle, and more.  Beginning and established writers are all welcome to attend.
The group will meet regularly on the 3rd Tuesday of the month for about an hour and a half, starting at 7:00 pm at the Library.
No fees, no registration, no commitment required, just join us at the scheduled times. If you would like more information, please contact the Library at
