Adult Volunteers
The Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library appreciates the
dedication and assistance that volunteers from the community bring
to the library. The purpose of our volunteer program is to enhance
service to our patrons. We achieve this expectation by recruiting
and training volunteers to perform jobs that will enhance the
delivery of library service. Download
the application.
Student Volunteers
The Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library recognizes and appreciates
the value of volunteer assistance; this is particularly true of
volunteers from our local high schools. In support of the High
School Community Service Volunteer Program we strive to provide
opportunities for student volunteers to perform jobs that will
be rewarding and at the same time enhance the delivery of library
service.
There are opportunities for students to assist with a variety
of Children’s Programs: throughout the school year; during
the March Break; and in the summer months. Projects to participate
in include: Open Mic./Coffee House/Poetry type events; a window
display, including the concept, design, set up and take down;
and assisting with gardening during the spring and summer months.
If you are interested in committing to a rewarding volunteer experience
please fill out an application, specifying your interests and
return the completed form to the library. Download
the application.
All volunteer applicants are screened to ensure an appropriate
match is made between the volunteer and the position applied for.
The screening process includes completion of a volunteer application
form, a formal interview, orientation and training. Police Records
Checks may also be required depending on the volunteer placement.
We regret that we have a limited number of opportunities and therefore
cannot respond to every application we receive.
Feel free to contact us at 905-775-3328 or by e-mail at bwgmailbox@bradford.library.on.ca

Volunteer Gardeners Wanted!
Calling all Gardeners
or
People who don’t mind getting dirt on their hands
The BWG Library is looking for volunteers who would like to tackle
our front garden and turn it into a masterpiece, or at least keep
it from being an eyesore.
Responsibilities would include watering the plants and pulling
the weeds. We will train you if you are not already a gardener.
Don’t worry; you will quickly learn which plants we are
trying to grow and which ones we are trying to kill.
You can work by yourself or in pairs, but we are asking you to
come at least once a week for a couple of hours for most of the
summer. We are hoping to attract several volunteers so that they
can come in on different days of the week to spread the work load;
many hands make light work. All ages welcome.
